About Me

My journey into counseling began long before I ever stepped into a graduate program. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and then spent many meaningful years as a stay-at-home mom, actively involved in my children’s lives and our community. During that season, I served in my children’s schools, sports, and women’s ministries at Saddleback Church, where I discovered a calling to walk alongside others in their personal and relational growth.

For over 12 years, I had the privilege of mentoring women and serving in premarital counseling, supporting couples as they built strong foundations for marriage. Through this work—and my own healing journey—I came to understand how profoundly early relationships shape the way we love, attach, and connect.

After my children were grown, I returned to school and earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from Concordia University Irvine, where I studied under Dr. John Townsend, co-author of Boundaries. During this time, I volunteered as a lay counselor at Saddleback Church and later completed my formal internship there, an experience that shaped both my clinical skill and my heart for ministry-centered counseling.

My personal healing journey eventually led me to Relationship 180, where I was introduced to the book How We Love.

Understanding the roots of attachment wounds didn’t just change how I viewed relationships—it changed my life and ultimately drew me into counseling others.

I completed my pre-licensure hours at the Center for Relational Care, founded by Milan and Kay Yerkovich, authors of How We Love. There, I received extensive training in attachment-based therapy and continue to pursue ongoing education in this transformative model. Helping individuals and couples understand why they relate the way they do—and how healing is possible—remains at the core of my work.

In 2024, God led our family to Austin, Texas, and I am grateful to continue this work here. I am passionate about offering attachment-based, trauma-informed therapy to individuals and couples who desire deeper healing, healthier relationships, and lasting change.

I have been married to my husband for 36 years, and together we have three grown children, two darling granddaughters, and one grandson on the way. Spending time with family and friends brings me the most joy. I also love to read, travel, drink good coffee, and explore our beautiful new state of Texas.
